Listed Building Brickwork

Property Extension and Landscaping

Just wanted to write a small piece for your web site saying what an excellent job you have done for us.

Work on our extension to the house which was a big job, extending the garage, and adding a utility room, down stairs toilet, an additional room and bar, upstairs bed room, toilet and dressing room whilst also extending the patio and drive. Essential Property Repairs

We recently moved house and as part of the process we needed a quotation for essential repair works necessary as picked up in our buyer's full structural survey. Our buyer contacted Lyndon from Wye Valley Heritage to ask for a quotation. Lyndon fitted in a visit to us around his busy work schedule. He was punctual, friendly and clearly had excellent knowledge and experience. He spent some time looking at the concerns the surveyor had picked up which he discussed with us. He also arranged for a roofing specialist to pop back with him the following day just to confirm his initial thoughts on the state of the roof. As a result of Lyndon's visit we had no hesitation in recommending him to our buyers and they indeed intend to use his company to carry out the necessary works. Lyndon's reliability, expert knowledge and friendliness enabled us to proceed quickly to exchanging contracts and subsequent completion.

Damp Proofing Ledbury

We started a restoration project on a property we recently purchased only to find we had a really bad case of damp in a few rooms. We contacted Lyndon of Wye Valley Heritage who came on an agreed date / time. (He was very punctual) Lyndon took a look and explained what the problem was and how it could be rectified.

Lyndon talked us through the process and made sure we fully understood what he was going to do and how much it would cost. We are halfway through the project now and have found his work to be of the highest standard. Lyndon is hard working, professional, trustworthy and courteous. He goes that extra mile to ensure the job is done right.

It's refreshing to find a builder that you can trust. We consider ourselves lucky to have found him. With that in mind, we have already got a list of extra jobs for him to do as we wouldn't employ anyone else. General Building, Hereford

He took out kitchen/dining room wall, installed steel beam supports, moved doors to make a spacious kitchen/diner and replastered walls bricked up back door replaced it with a double glazed door in a different position. He then bricked up a window and moved it to a different position, levelled and retiled the floor, built a new fireplace and installed a wood burner. He has also fitted a completely new kitchen for us. The quality of work is excellent, completed on time and to agreed budget. This mans' skills are all round and carried out meticulously. He did a very good job at a reasonable price.

Property Extension and Heritage Building Work

Lyndon has helped me with lots of jobs, quite a few garage extensions and conservatory extensions but also a lot of work for English Heritage and the like. The work for English Heritage has to be top notch and I have never had a problem with Lyndon's work. He has helped with everything from laying brickwork to installing appliances. My highest recommendation of his is constantly employment by me.

Landscaping Hereford

Lyndon Davies of Wye Valley Heritage has assisted me with the first stage of an ongoing project to landscape my garden.

This has involved the design, construction and installation of a garden fence and gates and some restorative work to the driveway. A large well established laurel hedge plus roots were removed and replaced with a picket fence made of treated softwood. Two estate gates were erected to open onto a sloping driveway. He has had to overcome many problems with this incline not exhaustive of attaching a rising hinge to allow fluid movement of the gates, realigning kerb stones and then he made and fitted a new side gate on site.

The work was started and completed on time and budget and I am now ready for the second phase. I have been so happy and immensely satisfied with the standard of work accomplished so far, I have asked him to continue with the next stage.

We contacted Lyndon to advise about problems with damp and woodworm in our 300 year old stone cottage. Even before we commissioned him, Lyndon came several times to investigate what needed doing and was outstandingly intelligent and knowledgeable. He pointed out things no-one else had noticed and took a problem-solving and creative approach.

He has now completed much of the work and along the way has advised on other problems and has stepped in when other people couldn’t help.

He has a lovely team who work incredibly hard and are totally trustworthy. He has also established good relations with others who work for us.

Lyndon himself is multi-skilled and seems to work non-stop. On top of that he is patient, good humoured, keeps in touch and is always prepared to talk things through and explain.

I would thoroughly recommend him especially for any work on an old building that is complex or puzzling. He doesn’t rest until he has solved all the problems, his attention to detail is exceptional and the standard of his company’s work is impressive.

Kitchen Redesign

Les and I would like to thank you very much for your hard work and commitment whilst undertaking our kitchen redesign. We both appreciate how important it is to employ people who you can trust, not only to deliver what has been agreed upon, but also to find someone who was prepared to work extra hours to complete the work, when we added an extra time consuming task to the original agreed work, so that the next phase of the project was not put back.

Also having recently refurbished another project, I know from that experience that you do not always get the high standard promised, but I can say that was not the case with you. It is clearly apparent you have a great work ethos, and are only satisfied when you have delivered a top class job.

This is a testimonial for Lyndon from Wye Valley Heritage. I've used Lyndon a few times now and each time for a different trade, is there anything he can't do?!! I got him to lay a large concrete floor screed and by the time he'd finished it, it was like glass!!

I recently had a 65 ft new composite fence erected by Lyndon Davies and his team, the results were exceptional, the fence looks great and no mess left behind, no more hedge to cut , I was so pleased with his workmanship that I asked him to have a look at my stairs and landing, which creaked so loudly when you climbed the stairs it used to wake people up,
